Hana and Haleakala

45-50-Min Tour

Soar over Haleakala, the world’s largest dormant volcano sleeping since the late 1700’s during this helicopter tour of Maui’s lush landscapes. This cloud-level perspective offers stunning views of island sites such as the Hana Rainforest Preserve and the powerful waterfalls of Oheo Gulch.

Arrive at Kahului Heliport and climb into your state-of-the-art ECO-Star or industry-standard A-Star chopper. Pull your personal noise-cancelling headset over your ears – a sleek 2-way communication line between you and your captain – and get ready for takeoff.

First up: Haleakala. A massive volcano best seen from above stretches 7.5 miles (12 km) and consists of a crater that could comfortably hug all of Manhattan. From here, gaze down at beautiful Haleakala National Park. Then crisscross the coastal Kipahulu District, an area called home by native Hawaiians for hundreds of years.

Point your camera over Oheo Gulch’s lush bamboo forests, zoom-in your lens at the waterfalls and peaceful pools, and encircle the dense greenery of Hana Rainforest Preserve, the largest rainforest in the country. Fly above the isolated town of Hana, and trace the rugged eastern Maui coastline before touching back down in Kahului.
